Grinds are numbered on a scale from 1 to 9, with 1 being the finest grind and 9 the coarsest. As a rule, the longer water is in contact with coffee during the brewing process, the coarser the grind you should use. For example, espresso will have the finest grind (a 1), while a regular cup from a drip coffee maker will be more coarse (say a 6 or 7). For our brewed coffees in our cafes, we use a 7 out of 9 in terms of grind.
  • Store coffee in an airtight container, away from light, heat, and moisture this keeps coffee fresh while protecting it from odours or contaminants that could affect taste
  • Coffee should be stored at room temperature (22°C) to maintain its peak freshness and flavour
  • Store coffee in whole bean form and grind just prior to brew
  • Do not store coffee in the refrigerator or freezer

To get the best cup of coffee every time follow these simple principles

  • Ensure brewing equipment is clean
  • Use cold, fresh, filtered water
  • Use approximately 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 6 oz of water
  • Drink coffee immediately or transfer it to an airtight thermal carafe
