At Second Cup, we know that in order to provide the best coffee for our Guests, we must continue to work in harmony with both the environment and people who provide us with the best quality coffee beans. To both our Guests and coffee producers, we pledge that our coffee growing environment is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. All of our coffee producers provide a safe and healthy work environment and employees are compensated in a fair and equitable manner. As well, Second Cup continues to provide financial remuneration for quality beans to directly benefit the farmers, workers and mills. This is our promise.
The Discovery Series Coffees

Why these coffees are so special:
Each coffee is made from the finest quality beans produced in limited quantities by selected coffee farms in South and Central America. The beans are carefully processed and nurtured by highly skilled workers.
These farms are committed to the health and livelihood of their workers. Some farms, such as La Minita, offer free housing on the property for workers and their families, enabling them to save for their own homes or their children’s education. The La Minita farm also supplies free medical and dental care onsite to all of their workers. Additionally, El Toucan in Panama is tireless in its work to abolish child labour in that country.
What’s more, each farm is committed to protecting the environment. Pesticide use is limited and clean water programs ensure that the water used to process the coffee is cleaned before it is returned to the rivers and streams.
